Grey Matter, 1991. Installation at Niagara Artists' Centre. Colour slide of exhibition proposal: cast lead on floor, with silver paint on walls. The casts were made by pouring molten lead directly into the hats, destroying them in the process. The resulting objects are solid representations of the space contained by the hats, rather than reproductions of hats. The volumes of paint and lead are roughly equivalent.
