Avrom was born in Vancouver in 1952, a descendent of the Tolstoys of Russia. This is evident in his art. His narrative, descriptive style and a fine eye for detail are a feature in this work. Although Avrom has completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, he doesn't old much faith in art schools. "The primitives didn't go " is his usual reply. His work is bright, colourful and vibrant. His use of line and colour is rigorous yet sedentary. His refined aesthetic contradicts his raw primitive style. His parody of the fashion world is both scathing and loving at once. A damnation and glorification in the same work.

Gabriel's paintings are strong. An earlier exhibition at the Queen Elizabeth Playhouse was taken down by the manager, who stated "I didn't think it was proper for the young... To me it wasn't art." The works are bright, expressionistic. A former sculptor, Gabriel's understanding of the human form is complete. The lines are exaggerated and distorted to show figures in the throws of life, whether playing an instrument or screaming out accusingly each is done with knowledge and style.

Exhibition of two painters origianlly from Europe now living in Vancouver. Mickey Stankovic set about to paint his own series of icons and it is from this collection that this show is drawn. The paintings, done in acrylics and oils, also represent historical scenes in Yugoslavian history. Most of Dietmar's work centers around wildlife and reflects his intense interest in nature. Through each painting Dietmar strives to express his feelings about the subjects he paints. He pays close attention to detail in these works.

"Smaller this time, the paintings are composed on unstretched canvas and are renditions of the spaces Graham inhabits and the people he lives with. Expressionistic in style, these emotional works show the artist's interaction with the people and places that compose his life. When asked about style grham describes the pieces as "depressionistic"."
