"An original multi-media script. Using a combination of actors, slides, and sound. Barling's script investigates gender identification through the use of dolls and children's toys and explores anorexia and dyslexia as metaphors of women's psyche in today's society."

A musical presentation based on the life of Jean Donovan (one of the four American church workers killed in El Salvador in 1980). In journal form, interspersed with songs we trace the evolution of Jean's character before and after her experiences in El Salvador. The transformation of her consciousness is a moving and inspiring example to all of us in the Western world who aspire to global vision, and who often feel powerless to implement change where it is desperately needed.

Twilight Rambler is a one-man musically theatrical presentation, performed by David Campbell. Through the combined arts of singing, storytelling and poetry, David portrays his own experiences in search of his true identity. The journey starts in colonial Guyana, proceeds to Canada, then on to Great Britain and back to Canada once more. In the end he becomes at one with his Native Indian ancestry. This is the saga of a universal man.

A woman in a nightdress, a telephone, and one last call. With these elements Jean Cocteau weaves a we of truths and fictions. The telephone becomes a willful unmanageable instrument as she struggles to control it and herself in her last desperate attempt to speak to a love already fallen through her fingers. Starring in the role is Billy Gene, this year's Mr. Alternate. This is a return to theatre for Billy who has been working successfully in and out of drag singing and lipsynching, playing piano and dancing at various venues about Vancouver. Glenn Alteen directs.

"I wanted to break through an unrealistic theatrical convention garrulity. The most important 'action' of my characters is their silence... Their problems lie so far back and are so advanced that they are no longer able to express them in words." - Franz Xaver Kroetz. Request Concert is about the role of order in a woman's life. It deals with loneliness and non-commmunication. She has no words to convey the desperateness of her situation. Huachiman Theatre has been working in Vancouver for the last five years. This production starts Morgan McGuigan and is directed by Glenn Alteen.

This is a conceptual "rondo", a sort of emotional and political "row-row-row your boat" designed for staging in airlines, drive-in movies, performance art galleries and stadiums such as BC Place. The entire audience will be expected to participate. They are advised to wear old clothes.
