The Pink Room
With a change in direction, Vancouver artist Carole Itter exhibits The Pink Room at the grunt gallery. Her prior large scale found object assemblages dealt with urban or rural ecological issues on the West Coast. With this installation, another facet is explored--more personal and emotional--dealing with the impact of deep grief and irreconcilable loss.
My proposal for an exhibition at grunt gallery is a series of dimensional tableaux that I have been assembling for over the past year or more. Included in this are two handmade low-relief comforters which are wall hangings. It becomes an installation within a gallery by is particular subject matter: the altered objects of a child's room, a short walk-in doll house enveloped in pink. At this stage in the planning, it is titled The Pink Room.
